Christmas Concerts at ENS

Christmas is coming—and signs of this wonderful season are everywhere.

The same was true at the ENS Dobrynya campus. The entire week before Christmas was filled with festive preparations and activities. This meant that our children, together with their teachers, did what they love most—decorated Christmas trees (and adults happily joined in too!), made ornaments and garlands by hand, came up with surprise gifts for their parents and Santa, and decorated everything around them in true holiday style. And suddenly, everything sparkled!

The highlight of the festive week was the Christmas concerts. The Nursery group’s concert theme was the Nativity. The little ones sang magical Christmas songs: “Star,” “Dancing About in the Straw,” and “Away in a Manger.” They also showed how much they had learned in six months and performed the Toy Dance and a Christmas Dance. For the finale, they sang “We Wish You a Merry Christmas” so loudly that Santa Claus would be sure to hear them—and, of course, their parents joined in to support the children. Santa arrived with lots of gifts: he chatted playfully with each child, invited them onto his knee, posed for photos, and handed out presents. The children were thrilled to see their mums and dads smiling, singing, dancing, and being silly with them—and the parents were just as happy!

The Reception group, together with their teachers, wrote the script for “New Year in a Toy Shop.” The story featured real toy makers, customers searching for that one special toy, toys that came to life on Christmas night, and elves who brought Christmas to the toy shop. It was a real play with a cast of characters. The children sang “Holly Jolly Christmas,” “Old Toy Trains,” “Jingle Bells,” “Merry Christmas Everyone,” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas,” and performed the Toy Dance and the Snowflake Dance. For the traditional Family Fun event, together with the music teacher Miss Asya, the children also prepared a Christmas Orchestra performance and accompanied a magical piece from Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker. It was a cosy, warm, truly family celebration. Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
