ENS Mosfilm: Welcoming Spring, Saying Farewell to Winter

On 14 March, the ENS Mosfilm campus celebrated the farewell to winter! Children had the chance to learn more about the traditions and customs of Maslenitsa—a traditional Slavic festival.

On this day, pupils and staff dressed in traditional Russian costumes and held a real Maslenitsa celebration. The children learned Russian folk dances, sang chastushki and folk songs, made dolls, and created collages. And of course, no celebration is complete without games and traditional fun! Pillow fights and tug-of-war brought lots of laughter—adults joined in too and had a great time.

The festival’s motto was a Russian proverb: “Maslenitsa the mischief-maker helps spring arrive and sees winter off!”
