Zoo Trip

A spring outing for children from ENS Karamyshevskaya.

On February 6, the Reception class and the Russian group set off to meet animals from warmer climates. It was a windy day, so the children wrapped up warmly, put on high-visibility vests, and—chatting excitedly about the upcoming trip—left the school and headed to the Moscow Zoo.

In the vast park, we saw a meerkat, an ostrich, a giraffe, a zebra, various insects, pelicans, mandarin ducks, and even met a crocodile that is already 100 years old. The children observed the animals with great curiosity, asked thoughtful questions about their diet and daily routines, and solved fun little quizzes along the way. True spring had already arrived in the city—confirmed by the groundhogs that had woken up, as their wake-up time depends on the outdoor temperature.

And if it starts raining, you can watch live online streams from the enclosures of polar bears, orangutans, gorillas, the white tiger, and many other animals. The zoo has installed webcams, so families can now follow the animals’ lives together from home.
