ENS Dobrynya: "Around the World!"

The ENS Dobrynya campus kicked off the season of ENS children’s “summer concerts”!

On 31 May, the campus hosted the “Around the World!” concert, with children from both groups taking part. The students presented a play about Matty, a one-eyed cat who set off to search the world for his missing tail. Along the way, Matty met many other cats from different countries and continents, who didn’t leave their fellow cat in trouble and helped him look for the lost tail. Sadly, Matty never did find his tail—but he gained something even greater: true friends all around the world!

Because children of many nationalities study at the campus, the teachers and students were able to create a truly engaging performance and convey the richness of a multicultural atmosphere. Our girls from India performed in traditional saris and sang songs in Hindi. A student from France performed a piece in her native French, with a charming red beret and a narrow-striped dress as the key style details. Children from Japan and China also performed for guests in traditional national costumes.

The young performers—and the audience—travelled to different parts of the world, including Africa and Australia, and saw a Chinese dragon, the beautiful Eiffel Tower, and the world-famous London Eye. The play was accompanied by themed songs, dances, performances on various musical instruments, and even a breakdance routine by our Russian boys!

With such a variety of characters, decorations, and bright, beautiful costumes—Russian belles, cowboys, Spanish divas, and Arctic penguins—the show turned out to be vibrant and spectacular. And the themes of friendship, support, and cultural diversity helped bring out each child’s most wonderful talents.
